Seperate Hoppers

Postby jpichie » Sun Oct 11, 2009 10:47 am

I have a 1.2 colony, and I have had to separate the male, as I have lots of mice left over from before. Is it alright to separate the 1st litter from the mothers, and put them with the dad to grow out? Or is this a bad idea?

Well I seperate them around the age of 40 days, and at that time it is really no Problem to see the difference.

Sometimes I look after the gender when they are about 3-4 Weeks old, when I have people interessted in breeding groups. I could do it earlier, but I see no need for that, because you see the charakter then, and if they might grow to a good size then.
